Sec. 1306. Report on efforts of NATO to counter misinformation and disinformation

Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the entities specified in subsection
(b)a report on efforts of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO)and NATO member states to counter misinformation and disinformation. The entities specified in this subsection are— the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate; and each member of the United States delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. The report required by subsection
(a)shall— assess— vulnerabilities of NATO member states and NATO to misinformation and disinformation and describe efforts to counter such activities; the capacity and efforts of NATO member states and NATO to counter misinformation and disinformation, including United States cooperation with other NATO members states; and misinformation and disinformation campaigns carried out by authoritarian states, particularly Russia and China; and include recommendations to counter misinformation and disinformation.
