Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the President shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a special compliance assessment with respect to the compliance by China with article VI of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, including the factors leading to the conclusion of the President. The special compliance assessment under subsection
(a)shall be submitted in unclassified form. In this section: The term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Appropriations, and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Appropriations, and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate. The term Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty means the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, done at Washington, London, and Moscow July 1, 1968, and entered into force March 5, 1970 (21 UST 483).
