Section 1132 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 (Public Law 114– 328; 130 Stat. 2457), as amended by section 1107 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018 ( Public Law 115–91 ; 131 Stat. 1630), is further amended— in subsection (a), by striking through 2021 and inserting through 2026 ; by redesignating subsection
(f)as subsection (h); and by inserting after subsection
(e)the following: The Secretary of Defense shall develop and implement a plan to collect and analyze data on the pilot program for the purposes of— developing and sharing best practices; and providing information to the leadership of the Department and Congress on the implementation of the pilot program and related policy issues. Not later than 90 days after the end of each of fiscal years 2022 through 2026, the Secretary of Defense shall provide a briefing to the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives, the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform of the House of Representatives, and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate including— a description of the effect of this section on the management of civilian personnel at domestic defense industrial base facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base during the most recently ended fiscal year; and the number of employees— hired under such section during such fiscal year; and expected to be hired under such section during the fiscal year in which the briefing is provided. .
