In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate; the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate; the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Education and Labor of the House of Representatives. Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report that estimates the number of skilled telecommunications workers that will be required to build and maintain— broadband infrastructure in rural areas, including estimates based on— current need; and projected need, if Congress enacts legislation that accelerates broadband infrastructure construction in the United States; and the wireless infrastructure needed to support 5G wireless technology.
