Section 218 of the Iran Threat Reduction and Syria Human Rights Act of 2012 ( 22 U.S.C. 8725 ) is amended by adding at the end the following: The President shall prohibit a United States person or an entity owned, controlled, or beneficially owned by a United States person and established or maintained outside the United States from engaging in any transaction directly or indirectly with the Government of Iran or any person subject to the jurisdiction of the Government of Iran that is authorized pursuant to a general license under part 560 of title 31, Code of Federal Regulations if the transaction were engaged in by a United States person or in the United States and would violate any provision of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977. .
