Sec. 402. Minority business grants

The Assistant Secretary may award grants to minority business enterprises for the purpose of— growing a minority business enterprise; or helping a minority business enterprise to remain in business. The Assistant Secretary shall establish an office within the Agency that has adequate staffing to award and administer grants under subsection (a). Not later than 120 days after the date of enactment of this Act, and once every 30 days thereafter, the Assistant Secretary shall submit to Congress a report that contains— the number of grants made under this section during the period covered by the report; and with respect to the grants described in paragraph (1)— the geographic distribution of those grants by State and county; and with respect to each minority business enterprise to which such a grant is awarded— demographic information with respect to the minority business enterprise; and information regarding the industry in which the minority business enterprise operates.
