Sec. 212. Review of the effectiveness of policies and incentives to encourage deployment of advanced transmission technologies

Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission shall carry out a review of, and submit to Congress a report— describing its progress, pursuant to the rule issued under section 219 of the Federal Power Act ( 16 U.S.C. 824s ), in encouraging deployment of transmission technologies and other measures, including dynamic line ratings, flow control devices, and network topology optimization, to increase the capacity and efficiency of existing transmission facilities and improve the operation of the facilities; and that includes an evaluation of how such rule, and any other applicable rule or policy of the Commission, could be modified to encourage greater deployment of such transmission technologies and other measures.
