Section 2(a)(5)(A) of the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act ( 45 U.S.C. 352(a)(5)(A) ) is amended— in the first sentence— by striking March 14, 2021 and inserting August 29, 2021 ; by striking or July 1, 2020 and inserting July 1, 2020, or July 1, 2021 ; and by adding at the end the following: For registration periods beginning after March 14, 2021, but on or before August 29, 2021, the recovery benefit payable under this subparagraph shall be in the amount of $800. . Funds appropriated under subparagraph
(B)of section 2(a)(5) of the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act ( 45 U.S.C. 352(a)(5) ) shall be available to cover the cost of recovery benefits provided under such section 2(a)(5) by reason of the amendments made by subsection
(a)as well as to cover the cost of such benefits provided under such section 2(a)(5) as in effect on the day before the date of enactment of this Act.
