In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (in this section referred to as the Secretary ) for fiscal year 2021, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $20,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2023, for the Fair Housing Initiatives Program under section 561 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1987 ( 42 U.S.C. 3616a ) to ensure fair housing organizations have additional resources to address fair housing inquiries, complaints, investigations, and education and outreach activities, during or relating to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Secretary may use not more than 3 percent of the amounts appropriated under this section for administrative purposes.
