In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is authorized and appropriated to the Secretary of State for fiscal year 2021, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $500,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2022, to carry out the provisions of section 2(a) and
(b)of the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1962 ( 22 U.S.C. 2601(a) and (b)) to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus. Funds appropriated pursuant to this section shall not be made available for the costs of resettling refugees in the United States. Funds appropriated by this section shall remain available for one additional year if such funds are initially obligated before the expiration of the period of availability contained in subsection (a).
