Sec. 7404. Federal Trade Commission funding for COVID–19 related work

In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Federal Trade Commission for fiscal year 2021, $30,400,000, to remain available until September 30, 2026, for the purposes described in subsection (b). From the amount appropriated under subsection (a), the Federal Trade Commission shall use— $4,400,000 to process and monitor consumer complaints received into the Consumer Sentinel Network, including increased complaints received regarding unfair or deceptive acts or practices related to COVID–19; $2,000,000 for consumer-related education, including in connection with unfair or deceptive acts or practices related to COVID–19; and $24,000,000 to fund full-time employees of the Federal Trade Commission to address unfair or deceptive acts or practices, including those related to COVID–19.
