Section 201 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1022 ) is amended— in paragraph (2), by inserting , principals, and other educators after teachers each place the term appears; in paragraph (3), by striking and after the semicolon; by striking paragraph
(4)and inserting the following: recruit profession ready individuals, including individuals from underrepresented populations and individuals from other occupations, as teachers, principals, and other educators; and ; and by adding at the end the following: meet the staffing needs of high-need local educational agencies and high-need schools through close partnerships with educator preparation programs within institutions of higher education. .
