Section 1 of the California Desert Protection Act of 1994 ( 16 U.S.C. 410aaa note; Public Law 103–433 ) is amended by striking 1 and 2, and titles I through IX and inserting 1, 2, and 3, titles I through IX, and titles XIII and XIV . The California Desert Protection Act of 1994 ( Public Law 103–433 ; 108 Stat. 4471) is amended by inserting after section 2 the following: In titles I through IX, the term this Act means only— sections 1 and 2; and titles I through IX. In titles XIII and XIV:
The term Conservation Area means the California Desert Conservation Area. The term Secretary means— with respect to land under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary of the Interior; and with respect to land under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of Agriculture. The term State means the State of California. .
