Section 3(a) of the Civil Rights Commission Act of 1983 ( 42 U.S.C. 1975a(a) ) is amended— in paragraph (1), by striking and at the end; in paragraph (2), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: shall, with respect to activities carried out in health care and correctional facilities toward the goal of eliminating health disparities between the general population and members of minority groups based on race or color, promote coordination of such activities of— the Office for Civil Rights within the Office of Justice Programs of the Department of Justice; the Office of Justice Programs within the Department of Justice; the Office for Civil Rights within the Department of Health and Human Services; and the Office of Minority Health within the Department of Health and Human Services (headed by the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health). .
Section 5 of the Civil Rights Commission Act of 1983 ( 42 U.S.C. 1975c ) is amended by striking the first sentence and inserting the following: For the purpose of carrying out this Act, there are authorized to be appropriated $30,000,000 for fiscal year 2021, and such sums as may be necessary for each of the fiscal years 2022 through 2026. .
