Sec. 107. Data collection and analysis grants to minority-serving institutions

The Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health, shall award grants to eligible entities to access and analyze racial and ethnic data on disparities in health and health care, and where possible other data on disparities in health and health care, to monitor and report on progress to reduce and eliminate disparities in health and health care.
In this section, the term eligible entity means an entity that has an accredited public health, health policy, or health services research program and is any of the following: A part B institution, as defined in section 322 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1061 ). A Hispanic-serving institution, as defined in section 502 of such Act ( 20 U.S.C. 1101a ). A Tribal College or University, as defined in section 316 of such Act ( 20 U.S.C. 1059c ). An Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-serving institution, as defined in section 371(c) of such Act ( 20 U.S.C. 1067q(c) ).
To carry out this section, there are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary for fiscal years 2021 through 2025.
