Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall— conduct a study examining the coverage offered under commercial health insurance plans and reimbursement rates under the Medicare program and State Medicaid plans with respect to— substance use disorder treatment services, as compared to other health services, and how any disparity identified under this paragraph may contribute to differences in salary and turnover among substance abuse disorder providers; and rates of coverage or reimbursement, as applicable, for substance abuse disorder services provided via telehealth, as compared to such services provided in-person; and provide recommendations with respect to addressing any disparities identified under subparagraph
(A)or
(B)of paragraph
(1)in order to bolster retention of substance abuse disorder providers and the provision of substance abuse disorder services.
