Sec. 1303. Federal coordination between Lifeline and SNAP verification

Notwithstanding section 11(x)(2)(c)(i) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2020(x)(2)(C)(i) ), not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Commission shall, in coordination with the Secretary of Agriculture, establish an automated connection, to the maximum extent practicable, between the National Lifeline Eligibility Verifier and the National Accuracy Clearinghouse established under section 11(x) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2020(x) ) for the supplemental nutrition assistance program.
In this section, the term automated connection means a connection, to the maximum extent practicable, between two or more information systems where the manual input of information in one system leads to the automatic input of the same information any other connected system. Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, and each year thereafter, the Secretary of Agriculture, in consultation with the Commission, shall produce a report on enrollment in the Lifeline program by individuals participating in the supplemental nutrition assistance program established under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.).
Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Commission shall conduct a study and submit a report to the Congress on— the projections on the number of new broadband service consumers who joined through Federal assistance programs; and data that illustrates the efficacy of various advertising efforts on eligibility for the Lifeline program.
