Section 105 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 ( 42 U.S.C. 5305 ) is amended by adding at the end the following: In this subsection, the terms Indian tribe and tribally designated housing entity have the meanings given those terms in section 4 of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 ( 25 U.S.C. 4103 ). Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an Indian tribe or a tribally designated housing entity shall qualify as a community-based development organization for purposes of carrying out new housing construction under this subsection under a grant made under section 106(a). .
