Not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Inspector General of the Department of Agriculture shall submit to Congress a report on the use of authorities under the Defense Production Act of 1950 ( 50 U.S.C. 4501 et seq.) by the Secretary of Agriculture to reopen, and ensure the continued operation of, meat processing facilities during the COVID–19 pandemic, in a manner that superseded more stringent standards issued by State governments.
