Subsection
(h)of section 2533a of title 10, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: Subsection
(a)does not apply to purchases for amounts not greater than $150,000. A proposed purchase or contract for an amount greater than $150,000 may not be divided into several purchases or contracts for lesser amounts in order to qualify for this exception. On October 1 of each year evenly divisible by 5, the Secretary of Defense may adjust the dollar threshold in this subsection based on changes in the Consumer Price Index. The Secretary shall publish notice of any such adjustment in the Federal Register, and the new price threshold shall take effect on the date of publication. .
