Sec. 5241. Report on Department of Defense strategy on artificial intelligence standards

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to Congress a report on the role of the Department of Defense in the development of artificial intelligence standards. The report required by subsection
(a)shall include an assessment of each of the following: The need for the Department of Defense to develop an artificial intelligence standards strategy. Any efforts to date on the development of such a strategy. The ways in which an artificial intelligence standards strategy will improve the national security. How the Secretary intends to collaborate with— the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology; the Secretary of Homeland Security; the intelligence community; the Secretary of State; representatives of private industry, specifically representatives of the defense industrial base; and representatives of any other agencies, entities, organizations, or persons the Secretary considers appropriate.
