Chapter 15 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end a new section 285 consisting of— a heading as follows: ; and a text consisting of the text of section 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2004 ( 10 U.S.C. 271 note). Section 285 of title 10, United States Code, as added by subsection (a), is amended— in subsection (b), by striking During fiscal years 2006 through 2022, funds for drug interdiction and inserting Funds for drug interdiction ; in subsection (c), by striking of each year in which the authority in subsection
(a)is in effect and inserting each year ; in subsection (d)— in paragraph (1), by striking the paragraph designation and all that follows through Support in paragraph (2)(A) and inserting
(1)Support ; by redesignating subparagraph
(B)as paragraph (2); and in paragraph (2), as so redesignated, by striking subparagraph
(A)and inserting paragraph
(1); and in subsection (e)— in paragraph (1), by striking of title 10, United States Code and inserting of this title ; and by striking the second paragraph (2). The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 15 of such title is amended by adding at the end the following new item: 285. Authority for joint task forces to support law enforcement agencies conducting counterterrorism or counter-transnational organized crime activities. . Section 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2004 is repealed.
