This Act may be cited as the . Coronavirus Containment Corps Act In this Act: The term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Education and Labor of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate. The term COVID–19 public health emergency means— the public health emergency declared by the Secretary of Health and Human Services pursuant to section 319 of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 247d ) on January 31, 2020, as a result of confirmed cases of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019–nCoV) and any successor to such declaration; or the national emergency declared by the President under the National Emergencies Act ( 50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) on March 13, 2020, as a result of confirmed cases of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019–nCoV).
The term Indian Tribe shall have the meaning given such term in the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act ( 25 U.S.C. 450 et seq.). Except as otherwise provided in this Act, the term Secretary means the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The term State includes any of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The term Tribal organization shall have the meaning given such term in the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act ( 25 U.S.C. 450 et seq.).
