Notwithstanding the limitations in sections 609(j) and 616 of the Millennium Challenge Act of 2003 ( 22 U.S.C. 7708(j) , 7715), the Millennium Challenge Corporation may extend any compact in effect or assistance provided as of January 29, 2020, for up to one additional year, to account for delays related to COVID–19. The Corporation shall provide the appropriate congressional committees with a justification prior to providing any such extension.
