Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Chair of the Commission shall appoint no fewer than 440 additional individuals to serve as personnel to enforce this Act and other laws relating to privacy and data security that the Commission is authorized to enforce. Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Commission shall submit to Congress a report that includes— an assessment of the resources, including personnel, available to the Commission to carry out this Act; and a description of any resources, including personnel— that are not available to the Commission; and that the Commission requires to effectively carry out this Act.
There are authorized to be appropriated to the Commission such sums as may be necessary to carry out this section.
