Subsection
(a)of section 261 ( 33 U.S.C. 3071 ), as amended by section 205(a), is further amended— by redesignating paragraphs
(8)through
(25)as paragraphs
(9)through (26), respectively; and by inserting after paragraph
(7)the following: Section 1034, relating to protected communications and prohibition of retaliatory personnel actions. . Subsection
(b)of such section 261 is amended by adding at the end the following: For purposes of paragraph
(8)of subsection (a), the term . Inspector General in section 1034 of such title 10 shall mean the Inspector General of the Department of Commerce. Such section is further amended by adding at the end the following: The Secretary may prescribe regulations to carry out the application of section 1034 of title 10, United States Code, to the commissioned officer corps of the Administration, including by prescribing such administrative procedures for investigation and appeal within the commissioned officer corps as the Secretary considers appropriate. .
