Section 20(a) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Act ( 15 U.S.C. 278g–3(a) ) is amended— in paragraph (3), by striking ; and and inserting a semicolon; in paragraph (4), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: identify and develop standards and guidelines for improving the cybersecurity workforce for an agency as part of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education
(NICE)Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (NIST Special Publication 800–181), or successor framework. . Not later than 3 years after the date of the enactment of this Act and pursuant to section 20 of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Act ( 15 U.S.C. 278g–3 ), the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology shall publish standards and guidelines for improving cybersecurity awareness of employees and contractors of Federal agencies.
