Section 101A(d) of the National Security Act of 1947 ( 50 U.S.C. 3022(d) ) is amended— by striking regular ; and by inserting as the Director considers appropriate after Council . No later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence, in coordination with the Executive Office of the President and members of the Joint Intelligence Community Council, shall submit to the congressional intelligence committees a report on the function and utility of the Joint Intelligence Community Council. The report required by paragraph
(1)shall include the following: The number of physical or virtual meetings held by the Council per year since the Council’s inception. A description of the effect and accomplishments of the Council. An explanation of the unique role of the Council relative to other entities, including with respect to the National Security Council and the Executive Committee of the intelligence community. Recommendations for the future role and operation of the Council. Such other matters relating to the function and utility of the Council as the Director considers appropriate. The report submitted under paragraph
(1)shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
