Chapter 701 of title 46, United States Code, is amended— in section 70107— in subsection (a), by striking law enforcement and inserting agency personnel public safety personnel ; in the matter preceding subparagraph
(A)of subsection (b)(8), by striking law enforcement personnel— and inserting public safety personnel— ; and in subsection (c)(2)(C), by striking law enforcement personnel and inserting public safety personnel ; and in section 70132— in the matter preceding paragraph
(1)of subsection (a), by striking law enforcement personnel— and inserting public safety personnel— ; in subsection (b), by striking law enforcement personnel each instance such term appears and inserting public safety personnel ; and by adding at the end the following: For the purposes of this section, the term public safety personnel includes any Federal, State (or political subdivision thereof), territorial, or Tribal law enforcement officer, firefighter, or emergency response provider. .
