Section 4503a of title 46, United States Code, is amended— by redesignating subsections
(d)through
(f)as subsections
(e)through (g), respectively; and by inserting after subsection
(c)the following: Subsection
(a)shall not apply to a vessel that— is 79 feet or less in length as listed on the vessel's certificate of documentation or certificate of number; and is examined at dockside by the Secretary every 2 years upon the request of the owner and in accordance with section 4502(f)(2) of this title. .
