In this section— the term covered property means a property that is or may be covered by flood insurance under the National Flood Insurance Program; and the term covered policyholder means a policyholder or potential policyholder of flood insurance under the National Flood Insurance Program for a covered property. Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator shall establish a pilot program under which Write Your Own companies and National Flood Insurance Program direct servicers shall, at the request of a covered policyholder and before providing or renewing insurance coverage with respect to a covered property under the National Flood Insurance Program, investigate the pre-existing structural condition of the covered property for any issues that could result in the denial of a claim under the National Flood Insurance Program for damage to or loss of the covered property.
