Sec. 311. Use of operational energy cost savings of Department of Defense

Section 2912 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (a), by striking subsection
(b)and inserting subsection
(b)or (c), as the case may be, ; in subsection (b), in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking The Secretary of Defense and inserting Except as provided in subsection
(c)with respect to operational energy cost savings, the Secretary of Defense ; by redesignating subsection
(c)as subsection (d); and by inserting after subsection
(b)the following new subsection (c): The amount that remains available for obligation under subsection
(a)that relates to operational energy cost savings realized by the Department shall be used for the implementation of additional operational energy resilience, efficiencies, mission assurance, energy conservation, or energy security within the department, agency, or instrumentality that realized that savings. .
