Sec. 1058. Transmittal to Congress of requests for assistance received by the Department of Defense from other departments

Not later than seven calendar days after the receipt by the Department of Defense of a Request for Assistance from the Department of Homeland Security or the Department of Health and Human Services, the Secretary of Defense shall electronically transmit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a copy of such Request for Assistance. At the same time the Secretary of Defense submits to the Secretary of Homeland Security or the Secretary of Health and Human Services an official response of the Department of Defense to a Request for Assistance from the Department of Homeland Security or the Department of Health and Human Services, as applicable, the Secretary of Defense shall transmit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a copy of such official response.
