Sec. 1051. Modification of annual reporting requirements on defense manpower

Section 115a of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (a)— in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking the first two sentences and inserting the following new sentence: Not later than April 1 each year, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to Congress a defense manpower profile report. ; in paragraph (1), by adding and at the end; in paragraph (2), by striking ; and and inserting a period; and by striking paragraph (3); in subsection (b)— by striking
(1); and by striking paragraphs
(2)and (3); in subsection (c), by striking the following: and all that follows and inserting the manpower required for support and overhead functions within the armed forces and the Department of Defense. ; by striking subsections
(e)and (h); and by redesignating subsections

(g)as subsections
(e)and (f), respectively. Such section is further amended— in subsection (e), as redesignated by subsection (a)(5) of this section— in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking The Secretary shall also include in each such report and inserting Not later than June 1 each year, the Secretary shall submit to Congress a report that sets forth ; and in paragraph (1), by striking and estimates of such numbers for the current fiscal year and subsequent fiscal years ; and in subsection (f), as so redesignated— in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking In each report submitted under subsection (a), the Secretary shall also include a detailed discussion and inserting Not later than September 1 each year, the Secretary shall submit to Congress a report that sets forth a detailed discussion, current as of the preceding fiscal year ; and by striking the year each place it appears and inserting the fiscal year .
