Of the amount authorized to be appropriated for fiscal year 2020 in Division D of this Act and available for operation and maintenance for Defense-wide activities as specified in the funding table in Section 4301 of this Act, $40,000,000 shall be available only for the purpose of providing assistance to local educational agencies under subsection
(a)of section 572 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006 ( Public Law 109–163 ; 20 U.S.C. 7703b ). Of the amount authorized to be appropriated for fiscal year 2020 in Division D of this Act and available for operation and maintenance for Defense-wide activities as specified in the funding table in Section 4301 of this Act, $10,000,000 shall be available for payments under section 363 of the Floyd D. Spence National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2001 ( Public Law 106–398 ; 20 U.S.C. 7703a ). In this section, the term local educational agency has the meaning given that term in section 7013(9) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 7713(9) ).
