Sec. 2823. Pilot program to build and monitor use of single family homes

The Secretary of the Army shall carry out a pilot program to build and monitor the use of not fewer than 5 single family homes for members of the Army and their families. The Secretary of the Army shall carry out the pilot program at no less than two installations of the Army located in different climate regions of the United States as determined by the Secretary. In building homes under the pilot program, the Secretary of the Army shall use the All-American Abode design from the suburban single-family division design by the United States Military Academy.
Notwithstanding the amounts set forth in the funding tables in division D, the amount authorized to be appropriated in section 2103 for Army military construction, as specified in the corresponding funding table in section 4601, for Military Construction, FH Con Army Family Housing P&D, is hereby increased by $5,000,000, with the amount of such increase to be made available to carry out the pilot program. Notwithstanding the amounts set forth in the funding tables in division D, the amount authorized to be appropriated in section 201 for research, development, test, and evaluation, as specified in the corresponding funding table in section 4201, for Air Force, Line 088, Program Element 0604933F, ICBM FUZE MODERNIZATION, is hereby reduced by $5,000,000.
