Section 2 of the Central Intelligence Agency Voluntary Separation Pay Act ( 50 U.S.C. 3519a(e)(2) ) is amended— in subsection (e)(2)(B), by striking $25,000 and inserting $40,000 (as adjusted from time to time under subsection (f)) ; by redesignating subsections
(f)and
(g)as subsections
(g)and (h), respectively; and by inserting after subsection
(e)the following: On March 1 of each year, the Director shall provide a percentage increase (rounded in accordance with paragraph (2)) in the amount specified in subsection (e)(2)(B), equal to the percentage by which— the Consumer Price Index (all items, United States city average) for the 12-month period ending on the December 31 immediately preceding the date on which the increase is made, exceeds the Consumer Price Index for the 12-month period preceding the 12-month period described in subparagraph (A). A percentage increase under paragraph
(1)shall be adjusted to the nearest one-tenth of one percent, and an amount determined under paragraph
(1)shall be rounded to the nearest multiple of $1,000 (or, if midway between multiples of $1,000, to the next higher multiple of $1,000). .
