Sec. 701. Reauthorization of demonstration project for health care coverage through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program

Section 1108 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (a), by striking the last sentence; in subsection (b)— by striking paragraph
(1)and inserting the following new paragraph:
(1)An eligible beneficiary under this subsection is a beneficiary under section 1074(a) of this title or a covered beneficiary under this chapter, but does not include a person who is entitled to hospital insurance benefits under part A of title XVIII of the Social Security Act ( ; 42 U.S.C. 1395c et seq.). in paragraph (2), by striking who is a family member for purposes of such chapter ; in paragraph (3), by striking (except as provided in paragraph (1)(C) or (1)(D)) ; and by striking paragraphs
(4)and (5); in subsection (c), by striking In establishing the areas and all that follows through the end of the subsection; in subsection (d)(2)— by striking 2000 and inserting 2021 ; by striking 1999 and inserting 2020 ; and by striking 2002 and inserting 2023 ; in subsection (f), by striking paragraphs
(1)and
(2)and the paragraph designation for paragraph (3); by striking subsection (g); by redesignating subsections
(h)and
(i)as subsections
(g)and (h), respectively; by striking subsection (j); and by adding at the end the following new subsections: The Secretary of Defense may make additional payments to a beneficiary under section 1074(a) of this title as a health allowance for payment of health and medical services (including premium and cost sharing) in the demonstration project under this section. The Secretary of Defense and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management are authorized to establish such other terms and conditions for the operation of the demonstration authorized by this section as they determine appropriate. .
