Sec. 602. Classified briefing on the involvement of Venezuelan officials in corruption and illicit narcotics trafficking

Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State, acting through the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, and in coordination with the Director of National Intelligence, shall brief the appropriate congressional committees on the involvement of senior officials of the Maduro regime, including members of the National Electoral Council, the judicial system, and the Venezuelan security forces, in illicit narcotics trafficking and acts of corruption in Venezuela. The briefing provided under subsection
(a)shall— describe how the acts of corruption described in the report pose challenges for United States national security and impact the rule of law and democratic governance in countries of the Western Hemisphere; identify individuals that frustrate the ability of the United States to combat illicit narcotics trafficking; include an assessment of the relationship between individuals identified under subsection
(a)and Nicolás Maduro or members of his cabinet; and include input from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate ; the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate ; the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives ; and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives .
