Sec. 208. Application of General Schedule to Congress

Section 5331 of title 5, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (a), by striking this subchapter, and inserting the following: “this subchapter— agency , employee , position , agency — has the meaning given that term in section 5102 of this title; and includes— the Government Accountability Office; and any agency, office, or other entity for which the pay of the employees of the agency, office, or other entity is disbursed by the Secretary of the Senate or the Chief Administrative Officer of the House of Representatives; employee — means an individual employed in or under an agency; and does not include a Member of Congress; and position , ; and in subsection (b), by inserting and employees in positions in an agency described in subsection (a)(1)(B) after chapter 51 applies .
Section 5 of the Federal Pay Comparability Act of 1970 ( 2 U.S.C. 4531 ) is repealed. Section 311 of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 1988 ( 2 U.S.C. 4532 ) is repealed. Sections 471 and 475 of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1970 ( 2 U.S.C. 4533 , 4534) are repealed. Section 4 of the Federal Pay Comparability Act of 1970 ( 2 U.S.C. 4571 ) is repealed. Section 107 of the Legislative Branch Appropriation Act, 1977 ( 2 U.S.C. 4572 ) is repealed. Section 315 of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 1991 ( 2 U.S.C. 4573 ) is repealed.
Section 105 of the Legislative Branch Appropriation Act, 1968 ( 2 U.S.C. 4575 ) is amended— by striking subsection (a); by striking subsection (c); by striking subsection (e); and by striking subsection (f). Section 114 of the Legislative Branch Appropriation Act, 1978 ( 2 U.S.C. 4576 ) is amended by striking maximum rate specified and all that follows and inserting rate payable for a position at level 15, step 10 of the General Schedule. . Section 102(c)(2)(B) of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2002 ( 2 U.S.C. 4579(c)(2)(B) ) is amended by striking exceeding and all that follows and inserting exceeding . 1/12th of the maximum annual rate of pay that is payable for positions on the General Schedule under section 5304(g)(1) of title 5, United States Code.
