Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Commerce shall initiate the process to designate as a national marine sanctuary under section 304 of the National Marine Sanctuaries Act ( 16 U.S.C. 1433 ) each of the areas identified in the Inventory of Successful Nominations of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as of October 20, 2020. Section 304 of the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act of 1972 ( 16 U.S.C. 1434 ) is amended by striking subsection (f).
