Section 9 of the Belarus Democracy Act of 2004 ( Public Law 109–480 ; 22 U.S.C. 5811 note) is amended— by striking paragraph
(1)and inserting the following: The term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Financial Services, and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Foreign Relations, the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, and the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate. ; and in paragraph (3)(B)— in clause (i), by inserting members of the security and intelligence services, after prosecutors, ; and in clause (ii), by inserting , electoral fraud, online censorship, or restrictions on independent media and journalists after public corruption .
