The Secretary of State and the heads of other Federal agencies whose employees are authorized to receive payments of monetary amounts and other allowances under section 5523 of title 5, United States Code, may rely upon the authority of that section, without regard to the time limitations referenced therein, to continue such payments in connection with authorized or ordered departures from foreign areas, to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus: That the authority under this section shall be available to continue such payments for the period beginning on July 21, 2020, through September 30, 2022, when such authority shall expire.
