The Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees an annual report on— the use of online social media platforms by entities designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the Department of State for recruitment, fundraising, and the dissemination of information; and the threat posed to the national security of the United States by the online radicalization of terrorists and violent extremists. In this section, the appropriate congressional committees are— the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate.
