Section 233 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 ( Public Law 114–328 ; 10 U.S.C. 2358 note) is amended— in subsection (e), by striking 2022 and inserting 2027 ; and in subsection (f)— by amending paragraph
(1)to read as follows: Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of the William M.
(Mac)Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 , the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the status of the pilot program. ; and in paragraph (2), by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: With respect to any military department not participating in the pilot program, an explanation for such nonparticipation, including identification of— any issues that may be preventing such participation; and any offices or other elements of the Department of Defense that may be responsible for the delay in participation. . Effective as of December 23, 2016, and as if included therein as enacted, section 233(c)(2)(C)(ii) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 ( Public Law 114–328 ; 10 U.S.C. 2358 note) is amended by striking Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics and inserting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology . Subsection
(e)of section 233 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018 ( Public Law 115–91 ; 10 U.S.C. 2514 note) is amended to read as follows: The pilot program under this section shall terminate on September 30, 2025. .
