Section 719 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 ( Public Law 116–92 ; 133 Stat. 1454) is amended— in subsection (a), in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking may not realign or reduce military medical end strength authorizations until and inserting the following: may not realign or reduce military medical end strength authorizations during the one-year period following the date of the enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021, and after such period, may not realign or reduce such authorizations unless ; and in subsection (b)(1), by inserting before the period at the end the following: , including with respect to both the homeland defense mission and pandemic influenza .
