Sec. 1800. Review of use of innovative wood product technology

The Secretary of Defense, in collaboration with the Secretary of Agriculture, shall review the potential to incorporate innovative wood product technologies (such as mass timber and cellulose nanomaterials) in constructing or renovating facilities owned or managed by the Department of Defense. Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Agriculture of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry of the Senate a report that— includes the findings of the review required under subsection (a); and identifies any barriers to incorporating innovative wood product technologies (such as mass timber and cellulose nanomaterials) in constructing or renovating facilities owned or managed by the Department of Defense.
