Sec. 1708. Department of Veterans Affairs report on unclaimed property

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall submit to Congress a report on the unclaimed property in the possession of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Comptroller General of the United States shall conduct a review of the report submitted under subsection (a). The term unclaimed property includes any intangible personal property, including money, liquidated obligations, choses in action, accounts, entrusted funds, deposits, evidences of debt or instruments held by any Federal agency, officer or employee thereof (except bonuses, gratuities, and sums held by the Social Security Administration), which has remained unclaimed by the owner.
