Sec. 220. Disclosure requirements for recipients of Department of Defense research and development grants

Chapter 139 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section: An individual or entity (including a State or local government) that receives Department of Defense grant funds for research and development shall clearly state in any statement, press release, or other document describing the program, project, or activity funded through such grant funds, other than a communication containing not more than 280 characters, the dollar amount of Department grant funds made available for the program, project, or activity. .
The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 139 of such title is amended by adding at the end the following new item: 2374b. Disclosure requirements for recipients of research and development grants. . The amendments made by subsection
(a)shall take effect on October 1, 2021, and shall apply with respect to grants for research and development that are awarded by the Department of Defense on or after that date.
