In this subtitle: The term 3GPP means the Third Generation Partnership Project. The term 5G network means a radio network as described by 3GPP Release 15 or higher. The term Commission means the Federal Communications Commission. The term NTIA Administrator means the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information. The term Open-RAN means the Open Radio Access Network approach to standardization adopted by the O-RAN Alliance, Telecom Infra Project, or 3GPP, or any similar set of open standards for multi-vendor network equipment interoperability.
The term relevant committees of Congress means— the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate; the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate; the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate; the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate; the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate; the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate; the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.
